Google Integrations

Our latest release is packed with two exciting integrations: Google Sheets and BigQuery! These integrations mark an important step toward one of our biggest priorities right now: enabling you to bring your data directly into Decipad to build live dashboards and models based on real-time data.

Google Sheets Imports​

One of our most requested features is finally here—our Google Sheets Integration allows you to easily import data from both public and private Google Sheets, so your Decipad models are always up to date.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Data importing: Instantly pull in data from Google Sheets into your Decipad notebook and start turning your models into visual data stories.
  • Auto-refresh: Keep your data fresh with just one click. Sync the latest updates from your Google Sheets into Decipad so your models always reflect real-time numbers.
  • Secure collaboration: With private spreadsheet imports, you can work and collaborate securely on sensitive data.

Google BigQuery Imports​

Our new BigQuery Integration unlocks the ability to query your BigQuery databases and bring your business data straight into your notebook.

  • Import with SQL: Use SQL queries to pull data from BigQuery directly into Decipad. This allows you to work with large-scale datasets and retrieve the real-time data you need for your models.
  • Data modeling: Importing from your BigQuery database will create a table with the retrieved data in your Decipad notebook. You can now play around with the numbers and start creating variables, graphs and a narrative around your model.

Fixes and Improvements​

  • No need to remember function names in the data drawer - a new autocomplete menu will popup to help you finish your calculations.
  • The data drawer now includes a helper tool showcasing all available functions on the side.
  • Using sum() on a filtered column no longer causes crashes.

We're excited to introduce the Notebook Data Drawer — a new feature that gives you more control over your notebook variables and streamlines your workflow:

  • Quick Variable Editing: Easily edit variables directly from the sidebar. Just click on a variable to open the data drawer, where you can update its name, adjust its formula, or delete it.

  • Inline Result Edits: Modify inline results instantly by clicking on them. The data drawer will open automatically, allowing you to edit variables without leaving your current view.

  • Create and Manage Sidebar Variables: Now, you can create variables stored exclusively in the sidebar, keeping your main notebook clean and organized.

We're thrilled to bring you our latest update: improved layouts in Decipad. These enhancements are designed to make your notebook experience smoother, more organized, and visually appealing:

  • Full-Width Blocks: Enjoy a more streamlined and flexible experience with the option to use full-width blocks in your notebooks. This option eliminates excessive scrolling and reduces unnecessary whitespace, making it easier to read and navigate large models.

  • Multiple Column Layouts: Use your notebook to create powerful dashboards with the ability to arrange blocks, including input and result widgets, into multiple columns.

  • Customizable Widget Sizes: Achieve greater control over your notebook layout with adjustable widget sizes. When using multiple columns, you can now resize input and result widgets to fit your specific needs.

  • Increased the margins in notebooks to reduce unnecessary whitespace.
  • Removed the shortcut that allowed converting a number from paragraphs into inline results, making it accessible via a calculation.
  • Fixed an issue where new notebooks wouldn’t start with the block sidebar open.
  • Resolved an issue preventing updates to published notebooks.
  • Fixed the lookup formula issue when working with dates and data views.
  • Fixed an issue where published notebooks stopped loading.

We are excited to announce our new-style charts! Revamping charts in Decipad has been on our minds for a while and we're very excited Charts 2.0 is live in the product!

  • New Chart Types & Styles: Our charts got a makeover with new styles, colors, and types. You can now create combo (bar + line), funnel, and area charts, giving you more tools to craft compelling data narratives.

  • More Flexibility: The level of flexibility in our previous charts was a bit limited. We have now added new customisation options like grid lines, data values & more.

  • Data Point Labels: Hover over any data point in the chart to see it in more detail. We have also included percentage changes, so you can easily compare how your metric is performing compared to the previous period.

  • Enhanced Integrations UI, now opens on the sidebar instead of a modal, and improved accessibility.
  • Improved the Decipad language speed.
  • Improved menu accessibility with scrollbars.
  • Fixed the issue that prevented the slash command from opening at the bottom of the notebook.
  • Fixed issues affecting menus with scrollbars.
  • Inline results now work when moving source calculations across blocks.

  • Deleting a second integration no longer affects other integration tables in a notebook.

  • Fixed inline results not showing when declared in other tabs.

New Workspace Plans​

We've simplified our workspace plans to make collaboration easier and more accessible for you and your team. Here are the key changes:

  • Plus and Business workspaces now offer the option to publish notebooks privately via a URL, restricting access to only those with the link.
  • Free workspaces receive 500 AI credits and 10 integration queries as one-time offers. Plus and Business workspaces receive additional credits in each billing cycle.
  • Plus and Business workspaces support exporting notebook tables to CSV files.
  • The submit form block is exclusively available on Plus and Business plans.
  • For notebook collaboration, Free workspaces can invite up to 3 readers per notebook. Plus workspaces allow up to 2 editors and 5 readers per notebook, while Business workspaces support up to 5 editors and unlimited readers.
  • Regarding workspace collaboration, Plus workspaces can have up to 2 editors or admins, while Business workspaces can have up to 5 editors or admins.

If you're currently on a Pro plan, your billing remains unchanged, and your workspace will have access to all features available in Plus.
